David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko are both reporting that contracts have been signed for a long-awaited unification bout between the two heavyweight titleholders, a clash to take place either June 25 or July 2.
Haye, who holds the WBA title, made the announcement on his official website, www.haymaker.com. Klitschko, owner of the RING, IBF and WBO belts, confirmed the fight through the Team Klitschko page on Facebook.
Klitschko is recovering from an injured abdominal musclebut is expected to be ready by the time training camp opens. If he is unable to fight, his brother, Vitali, reportedly is willing to step in.
The fight probably will take place in Germany, although other sites in Europe are being considered. It will not take place in the United Kingdom or United States.
