Miguel Vazquez outclassed Leonardo Zappavigna en route to a one-sided decision in a lightweight bout on the Miguel Cotto-Ricardo Mayorga undercard Saturday in Las Vegas.
Vazquez (28-3, 12 knockouts) controlled the fight with a consistent jab and excellent movement, winning 117-111, 118-110 and 118-110 on the cards. RingTV.com scored it 118-110.
The Mexican was making the second defense of the IBF title he won by outpointing Ji Hoon Kim in August.
Zappavigna (25-1, 17 KOs) simply didn’t have the tools to seriously threaten a fighter of Vazquez’s ability. The Australian fought much of the fight with a cut above his left eye.
