The man who co-promoted Vitali Klitschko’s recent heavyweight title defense Saturday against Odlanier Solis in Cologne, Germany, attempted to prevent his brother, Wladimir, from observing while Solis had his hands wrapped before the fight, the champion says.
Klitschko told BoxingScene.com that promoter Ahmet Oner of Arena Box tried to deny Wladimir Klitschko entrance to Solis’ dressing room, a situation that resulted in a backroom argument.
Wladimir Klitschko eventually was granted permission to enter and watch the hand-wrapping process, which is guaranteed in the contract of each boxer.
Vitali Klitschko ended the fight with a first-round knockout when Solis injured his knee on a flash knockdown.
