Australian cruiserweight Danny Green said Wednesday that he plans to continue his boxing career, reversing sentiments he expressed after he underwent emergency surgery in January to remove his appendix and repair a large abscess.
He made the announcement after a six-round sparring session against heavyweight Pieter Cronje, a workout that convinced him to keep fighting.
"Unless something radical happens, I'm back," Green told AFP. "(Cronje) is a big, strong guy and he took it to me. I was actually surprised with some of the shots I was landing on Pete. A couple of shots hurt (me). They didn't look like they were much, but a couple of them stung where the scars are."
Green (31-3, with 27 knockouts) outpointed previously undefeated B.J. Flores in November.
