Undefeated lightweight prospect Sharif Bogere will take on fringe contender Raymundo Beltran in the scheduled 10-round main event of a ShoBox: The New Generation broadcast on May 13 from Buffalo Bill's Star of the Desert Arena in Primm, Nev.
Bogere (19-0, 12 knockouts), a 22-year-old Ugandan amateur standout based in Las Vegas, is coming off a first-round KO of former contender Shamir Reyes in March. Beltran (24-4, 16 KOs), an 11-year veteran from Los Mochis, Mexico, best known as one of Manny Pacquiao's chief sparing partners, is coming off a seventh-round TKO of Carlos Vinan, which earned him the USBA title in March. The vacant NABO title will be on the line for the Bogere-Beltran winner.
Unbeaten heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell and undefeated featherweight prospect Gary Russell Jr. are also on the Showtime-televised triple header, which begins at 11:05 p.m. ET/PT.
Mitchell (21-0-1, 15 KOs), an athletic former linebacker at Michigan State University, will face Evan Quinn (20-5-1, 18 KOs), of Nicaragua, in a scheduled 10-round bout. Russell (15-0, 9 KOs), a talented 2008 U.S. Olympian, will take on once-beaten Dat Nguyen (17-1, 6 KOs), of Viet Nam, in a scheduled eight-round bout.
