Omar Chavez, the youngest son of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., stopped veteran Genaro Trazancos in the fourth round on Saturday in Mexicali, Mexico.
Chavez (26-0-1, 18 knockouts) knocked Trazancos (22-15-1, 13 KOs) down in the second round. The fight was stopped 52 seconds into the fourth round.
This was Chavez’s first scheduled 10-round fight.
He is the brother of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who fights middleweight titleholder Sebastian Zbik on Saturday in Los Angeles.
Trazancos, a one-time contender, is 2-12 in his last 14 fights.
