Rios scores spectacular third-round KO of Antillon

CARSON, Calif. — Brandon Rios stopped Urbano Antillon at 2:49 of the third round Saturday at the Home Depot Center to retain his lightweight title.

Rios and Antillon fought on fairly even terms in what was shaping up to be a war when Rios put Antillon down with a right midway through the third round. Antillon survived but was caught with a big right cross that hurt him badly and put him down again.

Antillon was able to get up but, with seconds remaining in the round, stumbled across the riing even though Rios didn't touch him. Referee David Mendoza stopped it at that point.
