Satterfield joins staff of The Ring Magazine,

Award-winning boxing writer Lem Satterfield has joined the full-time staff of The Ring Magazine and, Sports and Entertainment Publications, LLC – the publisher of the magazine and Web site — has announced.

Satterfield’s most-recent full-time position was with AOL Fanhouse and he previously worked 18 years for the Baltimore Sun. He also was a contributor to

"I am both humbled and grateful for the challenge and opportunity to work for such an historic publication," Satterfield said. "I have a great deal of admiration for my new colleagues and I am ready to contribute to The Ring's editorial team."

The Ring editors welcomed the news.

Satterfield studied journalism at the University of Maryland and currently lives in Baltimore, Md., with his wife, Jean, and two children, Ada and Adam.
