Obscenity-laced Mayweather-Merchant clash follows Mayweather-Ortiz fight

Unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. and HBO’s longtime analyst Larry Merchant never have gotten along, and their nasty, obscenity-laced, post-fight exchange offers further proof.

Following the controversial fourth-round knockout by Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs) that dethroned southpaw Victor Ortiz as WBC welterweight titleholder, the unbeaten seven-time, five-division beltwinner and Merchant got into it during Merchant’s post-fight interview.

Larry Merchant: You were in charge of the fight. You were aggressive and trying and taking advantage…

Floyd Mayweather Jr.: You know what I’m going to…You know what I’m gonna do? Because, you don’t never give me a fair shake, you know that? So I’m gonna go ahead and let you talk to Victor Ortiz. Alright?

I’m through. Put somebody else up in here and give me an interview…

LM: What are you talking about? What are you talking about?

FMJ:  You never give me a fair shake. HBO needs to fire you. You don’t know s–t about boxing. You ain’t s–t. You not s–t.

LM: I wish that I was 50 years younger and I would kick your a–.

FMJ:  You won’t do s–t.
