Ennis, Molina pullout of FNF bouts, Reynoso withdraws from ShoBox date

Derek Ennis pulled out of his this week’s Friday Night Fights main event against Demetirus Andrade, claiming that he’s ill, according to ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael.

The search is on for a late sub to challenge the undefeated junior middleweight prospect on the ESPN2 broadcast.

Rafael also reported, through his Twitter page, that lightweight contender John Molina has pulled out of a Feb. 17 Friday Night Fights matchup with Marvin Quintero. Rafael says it’s the fourth ESPN date that Molina, THE RING’s No. 9-rated lightweight, has pulled out of.

An interesting matchup between streaking junior welterweight Miguel Gonzalez and struggling former prospect Mike Dallas will replace the Molina-Quintero main event, according to Rafael.

Also, Jose Reynoso has withdrawn from a Feb. 17 ShoBox date citing a training injury. The southpaw spoiler from Riverside, Calif., injured his hip during camp for his Showtime-televised co-feature against undefeated Puerto Rican prospect Thomas Dulorme, according to a press release from Gary Shaw Productions, the promoter of the ShoBox card.

Charlie Perez, the manager of Reynoso, informed Gary Shaw that the fighter was taken to the emergency room where his hip was popped back into place after the doctor told him that he had a hip contusion. Reynoso left the hospital in crutches.

“It’s unfortunate that Reynoso will have to pull out of this fight,” Shaw stated in the press release. “I know it must have been a serious injury for him to do so. My team is diligently looking for an opponent to step in. Right now we have a few names that we’re looking at. An announcement will be made shortly.”
