WBO welterweight beltholder Manny Pacquiao said Floyd Mayweather Jr. “doesn’t want the fight,” against him, adding “I want the fight,” and, “I’m the one who has wanted this fight all along” during an exclusive interview with Yahoo! Sports.
“He talks and he says all this,” said Pacquiao, whose negotiations for a bout with Mayweather have thrice failed. “But you know what? He doesn’t want the fight.”
Meanwhile, Pacquiao will defend his belt against WBO junior welterweight titleholder Tim Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and participated in a photo shoot for their clash on Monday.
Mayweather, the WBC welterweight beltholder, will challenge WBA 154-pound titleholder Miguel Cotto on May 5 at the same venue.
In an earlier report by RingTV.com, Pacquiao’s advisor, Michael Koncz, and Mayweather offer different accounts of the offers made by each of the camps.
