Broner stops Perez in fourth round

Adrien Broner stopped Eloy Perez at 2:24 of the fourth round to retain his WBO junior lightweight title on the Devon Alexander-Marcos Maidana undercard Saturday in St. Louis.

Broner (23-0, 19 knockouts) dominated his smaller and overmatched opponent from the opening bell, appearing to win the first three rounds easily.

The Cincinnati fighter finished off Perez (23-1-2, 7 KOs) with a vicious straight right and then another right as the Mexican-born fighter bent forward.
