Middleweight contender Peter Quillin is slated to return Oct. 20 on the inaugural Golden Boy show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., Quillin told RingTV.com.
THE RING’s No. 10-rated 160 pounder is coming off an impressive victory over former 154-pound champ Ronald “Winky” Wright on Showtime in June. “Kid Chocolate” dominated Wright and even dropped him, a rare feat.
The slot on the Brooklyn card makes sense for Quillin (27-0, 20 knockouts), who lived in Brooklyn for many years before recently relocating to Los Angeles to be closer to Wild Card Boxing Club where he trains.
There were originally rumors circulating that Quillin, 29, would appear on the Sept. 8 Showtime card headlined by Devon Alexander and Randall Bailey, but those plans have been scrapped.
