WBA junior middleweight beltholder Austin Trout is slated to fight a unification match against IBF beltholder Cornelius Bundrage or if that fight can’t be made, a stay-busy bout against former “Contender” star Jimmy Lange, Trout told RingTV.com.
The 26-year-old Las Cruces, N.M. native dominated Delvin Rodriguez on Showtime in June. “No Doubt” Trout (25-0, 14 knockouts) is currently in negotiations to fight Bundrage, THE RING’s No. 8-rated junior middleweight.
“It’s time to unify “K9″, Trout told RingTV.com. “[Saul] “Canelo” [Alvarez] wasn’t willing to put his belt up, I hope you’re up to the challenge!”
Bundrage, 39, stopped Cory Spinks in seven rounds on a June ShoBox card.
Lange (38-4-2, 25 knockouts) has fought most his career in Fairfax, Va. (near his hometown of Great Falls, Va.). The 36-year-old Washington, D.C. native defeated Ruben Galvan in February.
Trout, THE RING’s No. 10-rated junior middleweight, is anxious to get back in the ring and would relish a fight with Bundrage.
