Former RING junior flyweight champion Giovani Segura says he has split with Mexico-based promoter Zanfer Promotions. Segura (28-2-1, 24 KOs), of Bell, Calif., hasn’t fought since losing to WBO flyweight titleholder Brian Viloria last December by technical knockout, but says he is ready to get back in the ring.
“I’ve been sparring because I want to fight next month,” said Segura, 30. I want to fight next month so I’m not wasting time. I’m sure that we will have a [promotional] offer soon, so I want to be ready.”
