Bradley (29-0, 12 knockouts) is coming off June’s split-decision for his current belt over Manny Pacquiao, who chose to face Juan Manuel Marquez for the fourth time on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena over a rematch with Bradley.
“Tim’s doing good. I talked to him a long time the other day. He’s happy. He said that he’s ready to go,” said Dunkin. “So he’s going to fight on Feb. 9, and we’re going to talk about it today.”
If Pacquaio is victorious, Arum has said that he could return to the ring on April 20 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel against unbeaten former lightweight titleholder Brandon Rios, who will be ringside for Pacquiao-Marquez IV, as will Dunkin, who also manages Rios.
“If Pacquiao wins, then I think that it’s a doable fight,” said Dunkin. “They have said April 20.”
On the undercard of Pacquiao-Marquez IV, unbeaten former featherweight titleholder and Cuban Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa will take on southpaw Filipino Michael Farenas in a bout for the WBA’s interim junior lightweight belt.
Gamboa is promoted by rapper 50 Cent (aka, Curtis Jackson), of SMS Promotions, who is expected to musically lead Gamboa into the ring Farenas.
Jackson and Arum said that if Gamboa is successful on Saturday night, they are targeting him for a return to the ring in February as well.
