Santa Cruz-Guevara media workout open to public

Today’s media workout for the Dec. 15 CBS-televised IBF bantamweight title bout between unbeaten beltholder Leo Santa Cruz and undefeated challenger Alberto Guevara is open to the public. The workout, which is also a Golden Boy Promotions toy drive event, starts at 2 p.m. PT and is at Ponce De Leon Boxing Club in Montebello, Calif.

Joseph Diaz Jr., the 2012 U.S. Olympian who is turning pro on the afternoon CBS broadcast from the Los Angeles Sports Arena, will also be at the media workout at the gym owned by WBC featherweight beltholder Daniel Ponce De Leon (1929 W. Whittier Blvd.; Montebello, Calif. 90640)

Guevara is scheduled to workout at 2:00 p.m., followed by Santa Cruz at 2:30 p.m. and Diaz at 3:00 p.m.

Individuals donating an unwrapped, unopened toy valued at $20 or more will receive two free tickets to the Amir Khan-Carlos Molina fight card, whichtakes place at the Sports Arena on Saturday night. There is a limit of two tickets per person, per toy and the offer is only good while supplies last.
