Hard-hitting Alfredo Angulo and savvy southpaw Erislandy Lara will fight in a junior middleweight co-feature to the Marcos Maidana-Josesito Lopez welterweight main event on June 8 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., according to Angulo’s manager and counsel Michael Miller and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer. Both bouts will be televsied on Showtime.
Lara (17-1-2, 11 knockouts) is coming off a technical draw with Vanes Martirosyan last November, and Angulo (22-2, 18 KOs) has won two straight since being knocked out in the sixth round by James Kirkland in November of 2011.
“Alfredo Angulo is going to fight Lara on the Maidana undercard, probably as the co-main event,” said Miller. “That’s what it looks like.”
