Martinez’s greatest hits

HBO has released a video of “The Greatest Hits” of Sergio Martinez in advance of the RING and WBC middleweight champion’s title defense against Martin Murray on Saturday.

Martinez (50-2-2, 28 KOs) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (46-1-1, 32 KOs), against whom he rose from a 12th-round knockdown, last September.

The matchup with Chavez will be among those featured on the video prior to the fight with Murray (25-0-1, 11 KOs), whom Martinez will face in Buenos Aires of his native Argentina.

Also part of the display will be Martinez’s two in Atlantic City against fellow left-hander Paul Williams, to whom he lost by majority decision in December of 2009 before scoring a sensational second-round stoppage in November of 2010. The first fight with Williams featured first-round knockdowns by each fighter.

Martinez also unanimously decisioned Kelly Pavlik, rising from a knockdown to do so in April of 2010, and dropped his man once while scoring an 11th-round stoppage of Darren Barker in Atlantic City in October of 2011, respectively.

Martinez also has scored knockouts in the eighth- and 11th-rounds against Sergiy Dzinziruk and Matthew Macklin in March of 2011 and March of last year, respectively, each of which is a part of the video.

Martinez dropped Dzinziruk five times, and rose from a seventh-round knockdown to floor Macklin twice in the 11th.
