Malignaggi weighs 146.2, Broner 146.8 for WBA welterweight bout

Paul Malignaggi weighed in at 146.4 pounds for his WBA welterweight title defense against Adrien Broner, the current WBC lightweight beltholder who tipped the scales a bit heavier at 146.8 at Friday’s weigh-in at Borough Hall in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Malignaggi-Broner tops a Showtime Championship Boxing tripleheader from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday. The live broadcast begins at 9:00 p.m. ET/ 6:00 p.m. PT.

Once-beaten heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell weighed in at 243.8 pounds for his rematch with Johnathon Banks, who knocked him out in their last bout. Banks weighed in at 216.6 pounds for the co-featured bout of the broadcast.

Former three-time super midddleweight title challenger Sakio Bika and undefeated prospect Marco Antonio Periban both weighed in at 167.2 pounds for their schedueld 12 rounder for the vacant WBC 168-pound belt. Bika-Periban kicks off Saturday’s broadcast.
