Anyone who watched Guillermo Rigondeaux dominate Nonito Donaire to win THE RING junior featherweight title in April must acknowledge the Cuban’s obvious skills. Not everyone finds him enjoyable to watch, though.
That apparently goes for HBO executives, who reportedly aren’t keen on showcasing him on their network because of his cautious, hit-and-not-be-hit style.
That news prompted THE RING to ask in its most recent poll, “Is the network right or wrong?”
The answer? Wrong. Two thirds (66.7 percent) of those who took part in the poll don’t support HBO’s position, an indication that fans appreciate the finer points of boxing as well as blood and guts. Only one third (33.3 percent) supported the network.
