WBC President Jose Sulaiman was “in great spirits,” albeit, “in lots of pain,” on Thursday according to his son, WBC Secretary General Mauricio Sulaiman, in the wake of “complications” on Sunday from double bypass surgery that took place earlier this month at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.
“He’s recovering fully, and he has been completely responsive, and now, he’s starting all of the physical rehabilitation,” said Mauricio of his 82-year-old father, whose procedure took place on Oct. 1.
“He’s in great spirits, lots of pain, but we’re very happy. He’s very strong, and we have great expectations that he will live many, many years to come. We expect him to continue to be in the hospital for some weeks to fully recover and to start his new life with a new heart.”
