Unbeaten Ukrainian lightweight Ivan Redkach will pursue his third straight stoppage victory against Tony Luis on the Jan. 17 edition of ShoBox: The Next Generation from the the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tenn., Showtime announced on Thursday.
Redkach (15-0, 13 KOs), a 25-year-old southpaw who lives and trains in Los Angeles, will compete in a 10-rounder opposite Luis (17-1, 7 KOs), a 25-year-old winner of two straight since being stopped in the eighth round by Jose Hernandez in January.
In other bouts on the card, junior welterweight Maurice Hooker (12-0-1, 9 KOs) will face an opponent to be determined, junior middleweight Frank Galarza (11-0-2, 7 KOs) and John Thompson (14-0, 5 KOs) will do battle, and middleweight Antoine Douglas (11-0, 7 KOs) takes on Marquis Davis (8-0-2, 5 KOs).
“This is a tremendous way to kick off the 2014 ShoBox season,” said Redkach’s promoter, Lou DiBella. “People are going to get the opportunity to see Ivan Redkach, a potential star, along with a number of other undefeated, young fighters, all competing to make a name for themselves. This is what ShoBox is all about.”
ASSAULT CHARGES DISMISSED AGAINST ADRIEN BRONER
Three-division titlewinner Adrien “The Problem”Broner (27-1, 22 KOs), who was dropped twice and dethroned following Saturday’s unanimous-decision loss to Marcos “Chino” Maidana (35-3, 31 KOs), had a misdemeanor assault charge dismissed against him, according to The Associated Press.
The case was dismissed against Broner, 24, who was scheduled for trial in Hamilton County Municipal Court in Southwest Ohio, after the man who accused the fighter of punching him in the face in May of 2012 did not show up for the trial. Broner’s attorney, William Welsh, also contended that the assault never occurred.

Former super middleweight titleholder Jeff Lacy (26-4, 18 KOs), who ended a nearly three-year ring absence with last month’s third-round knockout of Martin Verdin, (20-16-2, 11 KOs), has signed a managerial agreement with DTMG Management, the group has announced.
