Unbeaten Australian junior lightweight "Wild" Will Tomlinson has signed a five-fight promotional deal with Golden Boy Promotions, the company announced on Wednesday.

"He's one of the top super featherweights in the world and he's got all the tools to be a superstar in this sport. The fans here in the States will enjoy watching him fight for sure."

A 27-year-old native of Sydney, Tomlinson (21-0-1, 12 KO's) competed in the 2007 World Championships before turning pro in July of 2008 and is coming off of a decision over Malcolm Klassen in May.

"Golden Boy is the big leagues of boxing and I'm very excited to be a part of the team," said Tomlinson, a Los Angeles resident who is rated fifth by the IBF and eighth by the WBC. "I believe 2014 is going to be a big year for me, and with Golden Boy in my corner, the sky's the limit."

 

WANZELL ELLISON SIGNS WITH GH3 PROMOTIONS

Vito Mielnicki's GH3 Promotions has signed junior lightweight Wanzell Ellison (9-0-1, 5 KOs) to an exclusive promotional contract.

A 24-year-old from Newark, New Jersey who had 90 amateur fights and twice appeared in the National Golden Gloves tournament, Ellison turned pro in July of 2009 with a 2nd round stoppage of Alex Cooper.

"I am every excited that GH3 Promotions will get me moving. Now I have a promoter that believes in me. I know I will be fighting more than once or twice a year," said Ellison.

"I envision I will be a new star on the rise, a prospect at 130. I am looking forward to popping up on the scene and surprising a lot of people, and after that, people will remember who I am."

Ellison will be make his GH3 Promotions debut on January 31 in West Orange, N.J., on the undercard of an ESPN's Friday Night Fights event.

"I am excited at the New Year. It is a great way to start out," said Ellison. "I know I have the potential and I am excited to take over the super featherweight division."
