Ring No. 1-rated pound-for-pound fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. continues to keep the world guessing about whom he will fight when he returns to the ring on May 3 at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mayweather has stated on his Twitter account that he will allow his fans to decide whether his next opponent will be England's Amir Khan or Argentina's Marcos Maidana.

"I'm going to let the fans vote," wrote Mayweather, who turns 37 on Feb. 24. "Tell me who I should fight next. Khan or Maidana."

There has been wide speculation that Mayweather would choose Khan, who stated publicly in December that he has signed his contract to face Mayweather. Maidana could also be in line for a rematch with Adrien Broner, whom Maidana dethroned as WBA 147-pound titleholder by unanimous decision in December.

Mayweather was last in the ring in September, when he beat Canelo Alvarez by majority decision for the RING and WBC 154-pound championships.

In May of last year, Mayweather unanimously decisioned Robert Guerrero in defense of the WBC 147-pound title he had earned by dethroning Victor Ortiz via fourth-round stoppage in September of 2011, cementing his status as RING welterweight champion as well.

Mayweather is also the WBA's reigning 154-pound titleholder, having earned that belt by unanimous decision over Miguel Cotto in May of 2012.
