Muhammad Ali’s gloves fetch $836, 500 at auction

The gloves Muhammad Ali wore when he beat Sonny Liston to win his first heavyweight world title were purchased by an anonymous buyer for $836,500 on Saturday at Heritage Auctions' Sports Platinum Night Auction, according to the AFP.

The gloves were used by the Ali, then named Cassius Clay, when he retired Liston on his stool after the sixth round on Feb. 25, 1964, in Miami.
