Report: Amir Khan signs with Al Haymon

Former 140-pound titleholder Amir Khan of England has signed with powerful advisor Al Haymon in advance of his May 3 welterweight clash with Luis Collazo at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s defense of his RING and WBC 147-pound championships against WBA counterpart Marcos Maidana, according to Fighthype.com.

Khan has joined Collazo, RING and WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson, ex-175-pound beltholder Chad Dawson, IBF 140-pound titleholder Lamont Peterson and his brother, lightweight Anthony Peterson, as this year's signees to Haymon, who will be honored with the 2013 "Cus D'Amato Manager of the Year Award" at the Boxing Writers' Association at its annual dinner on May 1 at the MGM Grand.

In aligning with Haymon, Khan has also become part of an impressive stable of fighters including Mayweather, Maidana, Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, Lucas Matthysse, Peter Quillin, Erislandy Lara, Deontay Wilder, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, Leo Santa Cruz, Gary Russell Jr., Devon Alexander, Paulie Malignaggi, Chris Arreola, Sakio Bika, Andre Berto, Austin Trout and Edwin Rodriguez.

Broner will face Carlos Molina on the Mayweather-Maidana card.
