WASHINGTON — IBF titleholder Bernard Hopkins weighed 172.4 pounds compared to 174.4 for WBA counterpart Beibut Shumenov on Friday at the Marriott Renaissance in Northwest, Washington, D.C., in advance of Saturday's Showtime-televised clash at The D.C. Armory.

Hopkins (54-6-2, 32 knockouts) will face Shumenov (14-1, 9 KOs) as the headliner of a tripleheader being billed as "History At The Capitol," which includes a welterweight bout between IBF beltholder Shawn Porter (23-0-1, 14 KOs) and Paulie Malignaggi (33-5, 7 KOs), who weighed 146.8 and 146.2, respectively, as well as a WBO middleweight title bout featuring beltholder Peter Quillin (30-0, 22 KOs) opposite Lukas Konecny (50-4, 23 KOs), who tipped the scales at 159.8 and 158.

Hopkins and Shumenov were involved in a heated exchange during the post-weighin staredown.

"My title. My title. It stops now," said Hopkins when asked what he told Shumenov. "This is a hobby for him, but it stops now."

Shumenov said he'd been angered during a Thursday press conference when Hopkins picked up his belts, which Shumenov then took back.

"Yesterday, at the final press conference, he took my belts. That was very disrespectful," said Shumenov. "We are not just boxers, we are warriors, and we put our lives on the line."

On Showtime Extreme, Brooklyn-based welterweight Sadam Ali (18-0, 11 knockouts) and junior welterweight Zachary Ochoa (6-0, 3 KOs), as well as 2012 Olympian light heavyweight Marcus Browne (9-0, 7 KOs) of Staten Island, N.Y., will grace the undercard of the Hopkins-Shumenov.

A 25-year-old nicknamed "World Kid," Ali weighed 146.2 compared to 144 for his Saturday night's main event rival, Michael Clark (44-9-1, 18 KOs). The 23-year-old Browne and his opponent, Otis Griffin (24-15-2, 10 KOs) were 174 and 176.4, and 21-year-old Ocoha came in at 139.6 to 140.2 for rival Hector Marengo (6-7-4, 4 KOs).
