Floyd Mayweather weighs 146 pounds, Marcos Maidana weighs 146.5

Floyd Mayweather Jr. weighed 146 pounds at the official weigh-in for his welterweight championship fight against Marcos Maidana on Friday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, site of their Saturday showdown. Maidana weighed half a pound more, 146.5.

"My job is to go out there and do what I do best. I think I perform better under pressure," Mayweather said, referring to Maidana's swarming power-punching style and his usual out-of-the ring controversy and drama.

Maidana, who earned his shot at Mayweather by upsetting Adrien Broner last December, was his usual nonchalant self at the weigh-in.

"I'm very calm and relaxed today and thankful for the Latino and Latino-American crowd that's here today," he said. "Mayweather is going to be a more difficult fight than Broner but becuase of my style, I'm going to win."

Showtime PPV undercard weigh-in results:

Former WBA and IBF 140-pound titleholder Amir Khan looked strong and ripped weighing in at 147 pounds, the welterweight division limit, for his first full welterweight bout against former WBA titleholder Luis Collazo, who also weighed 147 pounds.

Khan had hoped that he would selected as Mayweather's May 3 opponent but the British star was thrown a curve ball by the pound for pound king, who decided to go with Maidana. Khan is hoping a victory over Collazo will once again put him in position for a showdown with Mayweather.

"This fight will definitely lead to bigger, better fights but I'm not looking past Collazo," Khan told Showtime's Jim Gray. "This fight could steal the show tomorrow night."

Collazo also views tomorrow's fight as a career launch pad.

"This is just another step to getting where I want to get, which is the top of the welterweight division," he said.

Unbeaten prosepct J'Leon Love weighed the super middleweight division limit of 168 pounds, as did his opponent Marco Antonio Periban, a former title challenger from Mexico.

Three-division titlewinner Adrien Broner weighed 140 pounds for his junior welterweight debut against once-beaten prospect Carlos Molina, who weighed 138.5 pounds.
