Chagaev-Povetkin in works?

Is a heavyweight showdown between contenders Ruslan Chagaev and Alexander Povetkin in the works for later in the year?

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Ruslan Chagaev and Alexander Povetkin are negotiating to fight each other later this year, possibly for the World Boxing Association's "regular" title, which will become vacant now that Wladimir Klitschko unified that belt with his WBO, IBF and IBO belts to become a so-called "super" champion.

Chagaev (27-1-1, 17 knockouts) suffered his only loss in 2009 to Klitschko. Povetkin (21-0, 15 KOs) was the 2004 Olympic gold medal-winner, representing Russia, whose biggest victories came against Chris Bird and Eddie Chambers. He signed to fight Klitschko in December of 2008 but pulled out with an injury.
