Chavez to forgo September tuneup

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will go straight into a November bout vs. Peter Manfredo.

Top Rank's Bob Arum told RingTV.com that it appears that WBC middleweight beltholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will move straight into a November defense of his crown against Peter Manfredo rather than take a September tune up as he had previously planned.

Arum and Top Rank Vice President Carl Moretti also said that Chavez-Manfredo will take place at The Reliant Stadium in Houston, confirming a report by BoxingScene.com.
