Nonito Donaire's Nov. 5 bout could take place in Reno or Las Vegas.

WBO and WBC bantamweight titleholder Nonito Donaire will return to the ring against an opponent to be determined on Nov. 5 likely in Reno or Las Vegas, Top Rank's Bob Arum told RingTV.com on Wednesday.

Donaire (26-1, 18 knockouts) last fought on Feb. 19 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, scoring a second-round knockout of Fernando Montiel. The triumph was Donaire’s 25th consecutive victory and 10th KO in his past 12 fights.

A 28-year-old Filipino-born resident of San Leandro, Calif., Donaire is No. 3 on THE RING’s pound-for-pound list.

Donaire's HBO televised clash will proceded the Nov. 12 third bout between his Filipino country man and WBO welterweight beltholder Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez that is being broadcast by HBO pay per view from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Having Donaire and Pacquiao fighting back-to-back provides a significant promotional opportunity, said Arum.
"Since HBO is doing both fights, the pay per view and the Nonito Donaire fight, they can say, 'Here's the next

Philippines super star,' in Donaire," said Arum. "And then, also show pictures of Manny Pacquiao. Also, they will couple it with a series from 24/7 on Pacquiao-Marquez."

There are apparently seven names being considered for Donaire by HBO, according to Donaire's manager, Cameron Dunkin.

They are Juan Mercedes (26-3 17 KOs), Sebastian Gauthier (21-2, 13 KOs) and Christian Esquivel (23-2, 17 KOs).
Also mentioned are Tshifhiwa Munyai (21-2, 10 KOs), Omar Narvaez (35-0, 23 KOs), Silence Mabuza (23-3, 19 KOs) and Alexander Munoz (35-4, 27 KOs).

"We're just going to give HBO all of the names and let them look through them and let them come back to us," said Donaire's manager Cameron Dunkin. "We have our favorites, but they're going to be the ones who will pick."
