Heavyweight Seth Mitchell is seeking a new opponent for Sept. 16.

Golden Boy Promotions is looking for a new opponent for unbeaten heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell on Sept. 16 in Las Vegas after Mike Mollo was deemed "too expensive," Golden Boy matchmaker Eric Gomez said.

Gomez said the company plans to showcase  the 29-year-old Mitchell (22-0-1, 16 knockouts) the night before the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Victor Ortiz card at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on HBO Pay-Per-View.

"We're looking at a couple of guys and nothing's solid yet," Gomez said. "Hopefully by [Friday] we'll have something."

Mitchell (22-0-1, 16 KOs) was scheduled to fight Mollo on the Marcos Maidana-Robert Guerrero card Aug. 27 but the card was canceled after Guerrero was injured in training.

Mitchell's debut on HBO was to follow his first-ever appearance on Showtime, on which he stopped Evans Quinn in the first round in May.

The resident of Brandywine, Md., has seven consecutive knockouts.
