Welterweight Angel Bojado is expected to sign with Manny Pacquiao's promotional company.

Accomplished amateur welterweight Angel Bojado is expected to sign a promotional contract soon with MP Promotions, the company owned by THE RING No. 1-rated pound-for-pound Manny Pacquiao, Bojado's adviser, Michael Sana, told RingTV.com on Monday.

A resident of East Los Angeles who turns 18 in December, Bojado won all but six of his 135 amateur bouts and was able to avenge four of those losses, according to Sana.

"I took him over to [The Wild Card Boxing Gym,] and after one of Manny's sparring partners got done working out with Manny, we put him in the ring with the sparring partner," said Sana, adding that plans are for Bojado to make his professional debut in January.

"[Top Rank Promotions CEO] Bob Arum was there. The first thing out of Bob's mouth was, 'Who is this kid?' This was about three weeks ago on a Saturday. He's got all of the potential in the world."

Bojado is the younger brother of former welterweight fighter Franciso Bojado (18-3, 12 KOs), who last fought during a split-decision loss to Steve Forbes in October of 2007.
