Gary Russell Jr. will have a new opponent for his Nov. 26 fight in Cincinnati

Gary Russell Jr., slated to face Dat Nguyen on November 26 in Cincinnati, Ohio, will now face Jerry Belmontes, Russell Jr. told RingTV.com.

Nguyen pulled out days ago, leaving Team Russell Jr. to scramble for a new opponent.

The 23-year-old Russell (18-0, 10 KOs) will now meet 34-year-old Mexican Heriberto Ruiz (48-11-2, 30 KOs) in a featherweight bout on the Adrien Broner-Vicente Rodriguez undercard.

Ruiz has won two straight by fourth-round knockout.
