V. Klitschko-Haye possible for March 3

Vitali Klitschko-David Haye is being targeted for March 3 in Germany.

Vitali Klitschko could meet former David Haye on March 3 at The ESPIRIT Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany, according to a source familiar with the negotiations. This corroborates statements given by the 31-year-old Haye to RingTV.com in September.

On his birthday on Oct. 13, Haye fulfilled his long-standing promise to retire from boxing by the time that he turned 31.

At that time, Haye denied any further negotiations about a fight with either Vitali Klitschko or his 35-year-old  sibling, Wladimir Klitschko  (56-3, 49 KOs), citing insufficient offers from the opposition.

Likewise, the Klitschko camp put an end to any speculation that talks were taking place.

But that has apparently changed for Haye, a winner of 15 straight bouts,13 of them by knockout before losing a decision to Wladimir Klitschko in July.

Vitali Klitschko is coming off a 10th-round knockout of Tomasz Adamek (43-2, 28 KOs) on Sept. 10, and is riding an 11-fight winning streak that includes nine stoppages.

The London Telegraph has also reported the possibility.
