Booth rejects conspiracy theories

David Haye's manager laughs off suggestions that the mayhem in Munich was prearranged.

David Haye's manager, Adam Booth has laughed off suggestions that the weekend mayhem in Munich was prearranged.

Many reckon the ugly scenes involving retired Haye and Dereck Chisora, following the latter’s points defeat to WBC heavyweight holder Vitali Klitschko in Germany on Saturday, was a set up, designed to create hype and interest in a potential future clash - inside the ring - between the warring Brits.

However, Booth, who suffered a cut head during the fracas from a flying camera tripod thrown by Haye, insists such conspiracy theories are utter nonsense.

I didn’t get that memo," joked Booth, who was working for BBC Radio at the Klitschko-Chisora title fight. "And, if I had, I think I might have ducked it."

Regards the clamour from within the UK media for the British Boxing Board of Control to stop 31-year-old Haye ever fighting again - should the former heavyweight and cruiserweight holder attempt to come out of retirement - Booth sidestepped the issue.

"I can't talk for David Haye or the Board of Control. You'd have to ask them about that, “ he added on Sky Sports News.

The BBBoC has no jurisdiction over 31-year-old Haye, who called time on his career last October. But fellow-Londoner Chisora, 28, could well be hit with a one-year ban when he appears before the board on March 14.
