Michael Koncz on Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao: "If the fans still want to see this fight, we're willing to do it."
Margarito returns on May 26 or June 15?
Antonio Margarito could fight in May or June in Arizona, with eyes on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. afterward.
"We’re talking about May 26,"’ said Margarito said through an interpreter after his brother-in-law, super-flyweight Hanzel Martinez, scored a first-round stoppage of Jose Miguel Tamayo at Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Ariz.
Diaz said June 15 is also a possibility at Casino Del Sol’s outdoor stadium, where Friday night’s Martinez-Tamayo fight was held in one of the casino’s ballrooms.
"May or June is fine,"’ said Margarito, who is coming off December's 10th-round knockout loss to Miguel Cotto in New York's Madision Square Garden where his surgically-repaired right eye was badly bloodied by Cotto.
Margarito also said that he is targeting a September clash with WBC beltholder Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., who, like Margarito, is promoted by Top Rank Inc.
Margarito suffered a fractured right orbital bone during a unanimous decision loss to Manny Pacquiao in November of 2010, necessitating the surgery to his eye.
