Rodel Mayol has pulled out of tonight's bout against WBA flyweight beltholder Hernan Marquez.

Former junior flyweight titleholder Rodel Mayol has pulled out of Saturday night's scheduled challenge to WBA flyweight titleholder Hernan Marquez in Marquez's native Mexico over his belief that Marquez failed to make weight at Friday's weigh-in.

Mayol, who fights under the banner of Manny Pacquiao's MP Promotions, and his management, disputed whether or not Marquez made the 112-pound limit after four tries, contending that he last heard the champion's announced weight to be at two pounds over the contracted mark.

"We have decided not to fight to serve notice that not everything in this world can be bought by money. We fight with our principles and that fair play should always be above anything else," Mayold told Philboxing.com.

"If they can cheat us on the scales, how much more can they do on top of the ring? I came here very ready to fight and knock Marquez out, but this is not right. We seek justice and an immediate investigation."

Marquez's promoter, Fernando Beltran, President of Zanfer Promotions, could not be reached.

Michael Koncz, of MP Promotions, told RingTV.com on Friday "we were contracted to fight for a world championship at 112 pounds."

Koncz said said Marquez was surrounded by a number of his handlers and camp members while weighing in, adding that he "lodged a complaint with on-site WBA supervisor, Alberto Sarmiento, followed by Mexican commission representative, Jorge Aguilar.
