Marcos Maidana and Josesito Lopez thrilled a record crowd at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., on Saturday. Maidana overcame a shaky fourth round to drop and stop Lopez in the sixth round of their Showtime Championship Boxing main event.
The participants Showtime’s June 8 cofeatured bouts looked ready at Friday’s weigh-in. Marcos Maidana weighed 147 pounds for his welterweight showdown with Josesito Lopez, who weighed 145. Erislandy Lara weighed 153.8 for his junior middleweight fight with Alfredo Angulo, who weighed 153.5.

Former heavyweight beltholder David Haye has suffered an injury to his left hand that will force the postponement of his June 29 bout with Manuel Charr, according to The Daily Mail of London.
