Featherweight standout Mikey Garcia made his junior lightweight debut a successful one by getting up from an early knockdown and dominating Rocky Martinez to an eighth-round KO on Saturday in Corpus Christi, Texas. In the co-featured bout of the show, Nonito Donaire scored a come-from-behind ninth-round stoppage of old rival Vic Darchinyan.
Jamaican featherweight contender Nicholas Walters stopped Alberto Garza in the fourth round, and featherweight Oscar Valdez came up with a fifth-round knockout over Jesus Lule Raya.
