Nicholas Walters is in jeopardy of losing his WBA featherweight belt after weighing in 127.4 pounds for his scheduled title defense against Miguel Marriaga on Saturday at Madison Square Garden Theater. Walters has two hours to lose 1.4 pounds. If he can’t make the division limit of 126 pounds the WBA title will be vacated and only Marriaga, 125.2 pounds, will be eligible to win it.
Miguel Cotto and Daniel Geale made weight for their middleweight championship bout on Saturday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Cotto, the defending RING and WBC titleholder, weighed in at 153.6 pounds (under the junior middleweight limit). Geale weighed in at the contracted limit of 157 pounds (three pounds under the middleweight limit).
Junior lightweights Jayson Velez and Daniel Ramirez hit the scale along with other fighters on tomorrow nights LA Fight Club card, which will take place at the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Full bout sheet inside.
