Chad Dawson's promoter, Gary Shaw, said that he expects to begin negotiations for a rematch with Bernard Hopkins this week.

Bernard Hopkins: "I don't want my next fight to be just a fight. It has to be historic. If I fight just a fight, then I would probably lose... I want at least one or two more fights. Then, I want to exit out of this game."

The WBC has ordered a rematch between RING/WBC light heavyweight champ Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson, as well as a fight between WBC middleweight beltholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and RING champ Sergio Martinez.

Bernard Hopkins says he will "never fight Andre Ward," who he considers an understudy of sorts. Ward faces fellow 168-pound titleholder Carl Froch in Super Six World Boxing Classic final on Saturday.

Bernard Hopkins: "Boxing is like dealing with a [prostitute.] You've got to protect yourself at all times. If you don't protect yourself at all times, then the repercussions can and most likely will be fierce."

John Scully has returned with assistance from Winky Wright to train Chad Dawson as they replace Manny Steward in preparation for Bernard Hopkins on Oct. 15.

"It's sort of me telling him that life is not over," said Bernard Hopkins of Dewey Bozella. 'This is far from being a distraction to me...I'm just so glad to be a part of this man's life.'
